Web Performance Testing

Description

Web Performance Testing

Overview:

The objective of performance testing is to verify how the developed application and system perform in terms of responsivenes and stability under a particular workload. It is also used to verify if the website / app is designed in a structurally correct manner and its function during peak operations. Performance testing determines if the technology has been used properly and that, when all the component parts are assembled, they function as a cohesive unit that meets responses time requirements. The testing techniques are not designed to validates  that the website or application / system is functionally correct, but to test its speed, scalability, reliability and resource usage.performance testing can forecast product behavior and its response to user’s actions with an impressive amount of detail and precision. Irrelevant web performance test data or wrong metrics chosen during testing cost companies a lot of money and effort, while not monitoring your web application performance at all can lead directly to a crash.

Cloud testing is the process of testing the performance, scalability, and reliability of web applications in a cloud computing environment. The focus areas for cloud testing are performance and security testing. For performance testing the critical factors which should be considered are:

Addressing the loads that will be applied by other clients/customers of the cloud provider.
Addressing the loads that will be applied against internet providers.
To build successful software, both performance and security should be migrated to the cloud.

Conventional Load Testing:

Performance testing setup time is generally minutes, days, weeks, or more.

It cannot be scaled as large as cloud-based load testing.

Costs are higher in the long run, but may seem to be cheaper when cloud-based load testing is still in its initial set up phases.

Not flexible.

No cases of data security challenges over the period of time.

Cloud-Based Load Testing:

Cuts down its testing setup time from weeks to minutes.

Enables large-scale and valuable real-time online testing for internet-based software in clouds.

Easily leverage scalable cloud computing infrastructure to test and evaluate system (SaaS) performance and scalability.

Reduced costs since it utilizes the same computing resources in the cloud(s) for its testing purposes.

Data security challenges.

At futuregen we  test websites and apps for scalability, reliability as well as performance. In order to do so we execute Performance testing and evaluate their compliance with standard performance requirements. These may include subsets related to stress, volume, reliability, load and performance. We use sophisticated tools that generate high levels of use, monitor system throughput, and provide reports on the results. The resulting consistent and repeatable tests identify any bottlenecks in resource utilization, transaction response times, and overall website / app performance.we’ll explain how to monitor and improve performance in modern computing environments:

Cloud performance testing—improving performance in public and private clouds, including AWS, Azure and Google cloud.

Serverless performance testing—understanding serverless monitoring challenges, tuning AWS Lambda functions, and debugging serverless applications

Kubernetes and container performance testing—key performance metrics for containerized applications, and how to monitor Kubernetes clusters

Web and mobile performance testing—how to ensure that modern web and mobile applications provide a great experience for users
